One of the best things I did to help me learn the books of the Bible was adding tabs to my Bible. 

These tabs from Church Notes will help you get a handle on which books go where and what order they appear in. 

The cream tabs are for the 39 books of the Old Testament and the pink blue tabs for the 27 books of the New Testament.

There are also extra tabs you can use to mark other places in your Bible. I've added tabs to passages like the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20, my favorite verse Jeremiah 29:13, the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 and 1 John 4:16 that says "God is love."
